Story
ALT Entertainment and Prakash Jha Productions' Lipstick Under My Burkha is a story of the fantasies of four women hailing from a small town. While Buaji (Ratna Pathak Shah) is a widow, Shireen Aslam (Konkona Sen Sharma) is a married woman, whose orthodox Muslim husband Rahim (Sushant Singh) doesn't love her or care for her feelings.
On the other hand, there's Leela (Aahana Kumra) and her mother (Sonal Jha). Leela is about to get married to a boy, Manoj (Vaibhav Tatwawdi), who she doesn't like. Besides them, there's Rehana Abidi (Plabita Borthakur), who hails from an orthodox Muslim family and wants to become a singer, which her parents will never approve of.
What follows in each of the character's individual life and how do they deal with the same is what forms the rest of the film.
