Jaanisaar - 2015

Set amidst the backdrop of pre-Independence era, Jaanisaar traces the struggle of two lovers who strive to unite under the rule of a selfish and greedy British Raj.

Ameer Haider, an orphan adopted by the Queen, who after returning to India post his education is elected as the King of Avadh. As per the instructions given by his maternal grandfather, Ameer decides to serve the British rule and during his tenure as the king meets Noor, a nautch girl. While love blossoms between the two much to the dislike of Sir John Cavendish whom Ameer admires, the British official and his maternal grandfather plot to separate the lovers but destiny intervenes and secrets are revealed.
